Ms Madhabi Katoch was awarded a Small Study and Research Grant (India) 1994-95, when a MA student at the National Museum Institute, Delhi, to research the influence of the philosophy of Mahayana Buddhism on Buddhist art.
Madhabi Katoch is a fine artist who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the College of Art, New Delhi, and a Master’s degree in History of Art from National Museum Institute,
She has had several solo exhibitions of her works in different media: oils on canvas, soft pastels, watercolours and charcoal sketches. She was a visiting lecturer at the College of Art, New Delhi and the South Delhi Women’s Polytechnic (1995-98) and at the Institute of Fashion Technology, Lucknow (1999). She is currently engaged as a visiting Lecturer at NIFT, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, She has travelled extensively all over India and lived in Mauritius, New Delhi, Lucknow, Pathankot, Kolkata, and Leh but currently resides in Palampur, in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. She also works as a rural art instructor with Bal Bhawan in Himachal Pradesh.
