Ms Ekta Gupta was awarded the UK Visiting Fellowship (Charles Wallace India Trust) 2018-19, while a PhD Scholar, National Institute of Advanced Studies, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
The award was for her study of archaeological and geomorphological understandings of the coast of Tamil Nadu through cartographic and visual records and other archives, at the British Library, Bodleian Library, National Archives, Royal Museums Greenwich, National Maritime Museum, Royal Geographical Society and the British Museum, London, and to attend the symposium ‘Mapping Empires – Colonial Cartographies of Land and Sea’ at the Bodleian Library, University of Oxford.
