Dr Sima Roy Chowdhury was awarded a Small Study and Research Grant (India) 1993-94, when a research scholar at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, for the study of the art of Mathura, Sanci and Amaravathi.
Dr Roy Chowdhury was awarded MA in 1989, MPhil in 1992 and PhD in 2000 – at Jawaharlal Nehru University. She worked as Research Fellow at the Centre for Archaeological Studies & Training for Eastern India, Calcutta, from 1996 – 2000, and before that was Lecturer in History Rani Birla College for Girls, Calcutta, from 1995 – 1996. She has worked as a Volunteer at the Boonton Historical Society and Museum, Boonton, New Jersey, USA, since 2014.
