Dr Ritvik Gautam Balvally was awarded a Small Study and Research Grant (India) 2013-14, when MA student at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU), for a study and reappraisal of torpedo jars in Indian Ocean trade.
Dr Balvally was awarded his PhD in 2022 from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda; his dissertation is entitled: Overseas Cultural Contact: West Asia to the Indian Sub-continent with Special Emphasis on Western India (3rd – 10th c. A.D.)
He has held roles such as Assistant Professor, Deputy Curator, and Project Consultant, where he has successfully managed various projects, collaborated with diverse teams, and developed strong skills in research, communication, and leadership.
He is now transitioning into the field of Cultural Resource Management (CRM) which aligns closely with his passion for preserving cultural heritage and expertise in archaeology. CRM offers the opportunity to apply skills in a dynamic environment, and contribute to the responsible management of cultural resources while working closely with diverse communities, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. He is particularly drawn to CRM for its emphasis on sustainable practices and its role in safeguarding cultural legacy for future generations.
