Dr Richa Jhaldiya was awarded a Small Study and Research Grant (India) 2001-02, when at the Dept of Archaeology, Deccan College, Pune, for a study of the contributions of the Nizam’s government (Hyderabad State) to the growth of archaeology in the region.
Dr Jhaldiyal received her Ph.D. in Archaeology from Deccan College, Pune, India. Her doctoral and post-doctoral research investigated the formation processes of the prehistoric record in the Hunsgi and Baichbal basins in the state of Karnataka, India. Her research interests also include historiography and histories of archaeology, specially in the Indian princely states in colonial India.
Dr Jhaldiyal is Lecturer of South Asian Studies at the College of Arts and Sciences, Dept of Near Eastern and South Asian Languages and Cultures, the Ohio State University.
