Dr Arati Deshpande-Mukherjee was awarded a Small Study and Research Grant (India) 2010-11, when Lecturer in Archaeology, Deccan College, Pune, for archaeological investigations on the Somnath coast, District Junagadh, Gujarat.
Dr Deshpande-Mukherjee is Associate Professor in Zooarchaeology at Deccan College Post Graduate and Research Institute, Pune. Her research interests span Archaeozoology, Archaeomalacology, Environmental Archaeology, South Asian Protohistory, Harappan archaeology, Ethnoarchaeology and coastal archaeology. She is editorial board member of the Journal of Historical Archaeology and Anthropological Science.
