Dr Maninder Singh Gill was awarded a Small Study and Research Grant (India) 2002-03, when a research scholar at the National Museum Institute, Delhi, for research on technical aspects of glazed tile work.
Dr Gill is the joint manager, with Dr Sreekumar Menon, of Art Conservation Solutions, a Delhi based conservation institution. He now has more than two decades of experience in the field of conservation-restoration of works of art, and is actively engaged in the promotion of the field at various national and international forums and bodies. More than twenty significant art conservation projects across India have been completed under the banner of the firm. Dr Gill has also authored many articles in journals of repute as part of their academic pursuits, including his research on glazed tile work which was initially supported by this grant.
